Annibal's Story and How She Did It
Annibal’s journey began as a homeschooled fourth-grade student with a strong curiosity about the world around her.
When she came across a competition organized by the Council for Economic Education, she seized the opportunity to showcase her knowledge and creativity.
For her winning entry, she created a video essay examining the economic impact of the Johns Hopkins Hospital system.
In her presentation, she highlighted the hospital’s investments, groundbreaking research, and leadership, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Her work not only stood out for the information she presented, but how she connected it to a broader understanding of how local institutions can influence global economies.
She concluded her essay by sharing her personal dream, to one day become a plastic surgeon and help people through reconstructive procedures.
Her passion for medicine is deeply rooted in empathy and purpose. According to her, she hopes to help patients with cleft conditions, accident injuries, and cancer-related reconstructive needs, ensuring they feel confident both inside and out.
