A brilliant Nigerian lady named Akinmoladun Precious Titilope, has earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University after years of consistency, resilience, and academic excellence.
She graduated with an outstanding 10 distinctions out of the 12 major medical courses she completed, emerging as the fourth best graduating student overall while also winning several academic awards in her department.
Her achievement reflects years of discipline, focus, and determination toward her dream of becoming a medical doctor.
Precious's Story and How She Did It
Precious began her academic journey at OAU in 2017, enrolling for a bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery.
For eight years, she maintained academic excellence through intense lectures, clinical postings, examinations, and medical training, despite the delays and challenges that often come with medical school in Nigeria.
At the end of the rigorous journey, she graduated with distinctions in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Mental Health, Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Community Health.
She also recieved the award for Best Graduating Student in one of her major courses, Community Health.

Reflecting on her success, Precious described medical school as stretching, demanding, and deeply formative. According to her, beyond the lectures, ward rounds, and examinations, she genuinely enjoyed the process of learning and growing both academically and personally.
Outside the classroom, she built an impressive profile in research, leadership, innovation, and public health advocacy.
She won the Best Abstract Presentation award at a conference for her original research work and served as the pioneer Research Coordinator of the Antimicrobial Resistance Club, OAU, for two tenures.
Precious was also a member of the IFEMED Journal Club, contributing actively to academic and medical discussions.
Her passion for innovation also stood out during competitions. Precious and her team placed second at the Mega Designathon 2024 with a project focused on improving HPV vaccination uptake.
And they later emerged winners at the Mega Bootcamp competition, a success that eventually led to the piloting of their idea and earned her a research assistant role. Throughout medical school, she remained actively involved in leadership and student service.
She served as Secretary of NIMSA TO WASH OAU, Creative Director of Stillwaters Mental Health Foundation, MSA Officer of FAMSA SCOPA OAU, member of the NIMSA South-West Regional Academic Board, Academic Chairman of her class, and also represented her classmates multiple times as group representative.
Her journey was also supported through scholarship opportunities. Precious was privileged to become both a Chevron Scholar and an FSB Scholar, achievements that further recognized her academic brilliance and potential.
Driven by her passion for impact and community development, she also founded The Communiclean Initiative, adding social impact and advocacy to her growing list of accomplishments.
Looking back at her journey, Precious expressed gratitude not only for the distinctions, awards, and recognitions she received, but also for the growth, resilience, discipline, community, and purpose that shaped her through the years.
She appreciated God, her parents, teachers, friends, and colleagues for supporting her throughout the demanding journey. “Eight years later, here we are. On to greater, better, and everything ahead,” she said as she celebrated becoming a medical doctor.
