AFRICA | A brilliant African lady named Latifa Fuseini has made history with her outstanding academic achievement—graduating with a double first-class degree in Law and emerging as the Best Graduating Student of the 2025 class at the Ghana School of Law.
Latifa's Story and How She Did It
Latifa’s journey in the legal field began at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she earned her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with First-Class Honours in 2023.
After earning her LLB, Latifa proceeded to the Ghana School of Law for her professional legal training, an intensive two-year programme that demands academic excellence, discipline, and resilience
During this period, she immersed herself fully in rigorous coursework, legal drafting, and advocacy practice, all of which honed her skills for the legal profession.
In 2025, her hard work and perseverance paid off outstandingly. Latifa graduated with another First-Class Honours, achieving the rare distinction of a Double First-Class in Law. Her exceptional performance earned her the title of Overall Best Graduating Student of her class.
At the Call to Bar ceremony, Latifa was presented with two prestigious awards: the John Mensah Sarbah Memorial Prize, the highest honour awarded to the top graduating student.
She also received the Conveyancing Award in recognition of her outstanding performance in preparing legal documents for property transfer.
Reflecting on her success, Latifa shared on LinkedIn how her all-to-bar ceremony is a special day that will forever be remembered.
”It’s truly surreal, and I am so proud of myself for achieving this milestone. I am eternally grateful to God for carrying me through every season of this journey and to my family and friends for their unwavering support and love,” she said.
Latifa is looking ahead to more achievements in the legal profession and as an academic. ”This is just the beginning,” she proclaimed.
