AMERICA | A brilliant young man named Prince Ene has achieved an extraordinary academic milestone after earning two doctoral degrees from two different universities in the United States.
This feat also makes him the first PhD holder and the first lawyer in his family.
Prince, who was born and raised in Houston, Texas to Nigerian immigrants who moved to the U.S. in the late ’80s, has built a remarkable record of excellence through dedication and intentional growth.
Prince's Story and How She Did It
Prince began his academic journey at the University of Central Arkansas, where he attended on a football scholarship he earned in high school. He graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry.
That same year, he took the next major step toward his goals by enrolling at Howard University, where he earned a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, graduating in 2022.
Not stopping there, Prince decided to expand his expertise further by pursuing a career in law. He enrolled for a Juris Doctor (JD) — Doctor of Law — at Texas Southern University, and successfully graduated in 2025, marking his second doctoral degree.

Upon completing his JD, Prince sat for the Texas Bar Exam and passed, earning scores that qualified him to practice law in all UBE jurisdictions. This officially marked him as a licensed attorney in Texas.
Prince described the milestone as the result of years of resilience and discipline. “This milestone marks the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance. I look forward to beginning my career at Finnegan and continuing to grow in the practice of law,” he said.
His story has been widely celebrated across media platforms, especially within the Black community, where he has been highlighted as an outstanding example of Black excellence.
Today, Prince works as a Patent Attorney at Finnegan, a leading intellectual property law firm, where he focuses on pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, a perfect blend of his pharmacy and legal expertise.
