AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian girl named Jesutoni Aderibigbe has earned a bachelor’s degree with first-class honours in Law at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
With his journey, he proves that persistence and focus can eventually lead to success. However, the journey was far from easy.
Jesutoni's Story and How She Did It
After secondary school, he attempted the JAMB examination multiple times in pursuit of his dream course. On his second attempt, he gained admission into UI but was offered Communication and Language Arts instead of Law.
Although he began his studies, his passion for Law remained strong. Determined to follow his dream, he sat for JAMB a third time, this time applying to Obafemi Awolowo University, where he successfully secured admission to study Law.
However, his ultimate goal was still to study at UI. Eventually, he gained admission into his dream university and returned to pursue Law there.

Once at UI studying his preferred course, Jesutoni remained academically grounded and focused. He completed his first year with an outstanding CGPA, laying a strong foundation for the years ahead.
Building on this success, he maintained academic excellence while also exploring other interests. In his second year, he began building software, successfully balancing his growing tech interests with his demanding Law program.
Despite these additional commitments, his academic performance never suffered. By his fourth year, he had become Campus Organizer for Google Developers Group while still maintaining excellent grades.
He later shared that watching senior colleagues successfully balance campus leadership with strong academic performance inspired him to aim for the same achievement.
Motivated by their example, he worked consistently toward graduating with first-class honours, a goal he ultimately achieved.
In a post shared on LinkedIn, Jesutoni expressed his desire to continue contributing meaningfully to teams and projects by combining his technical skills with legal expertise.
He hopes to bring perspectives that drive innovation while ensuring compliance with industry and legal standards.
