A brilliant young lady named Oluduro Folakemi has achieved remarkable academic success after earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
Folakemi graduated with eight distinctions in major medical courses and has now been officially inducted as a medical doctor qualified to practice in Nigeria.
Her achievement reflects years of focus, resilience, discipline, and dedication toward her dream of becoming a doctor despite the demanding nature of medical school.
Folakemi's Story and How She Did It
Folakemi began her academic journey at OAU in 2018, entering one of the most rigorous professional programs in the university.
For years, she navigated intensive lectures, ward rounds, clinical postings, examinations, and the emotional and physical demands that come with studying medicine in Nigeria.
Through consistency and determination, she completed the journey in 2026 with outstanding academic results.
She earned distinctions in Pathology, Pharmacology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Mental Health, Internal Medicine, Community Health, and Surgery, highlighting her strong academic performance across multiple areas of medicine.
Folakemi’s achievement is even more remarkable as she balanced the rigorous demands of medical school alongside building a presence as a content creator and YouTuber.
While managing lectures, clinical training, and examinations, Folakemi continued creating content online, and she made sure it did not affect her studies.
Reflecting on her achievement, she celebrated the moment on LinkedIn with gratitude and emotion, describing the transition from student to doctor as a dream fulfilled.
“The only time I’ve ever had to swear an oath in my entire life was to enter into this profession. But can I say? I guess it’s official: DR. OLUWAFOLAKEMI OLUDURO (MBChB Ife),” she shared.
Beyond the distinctions and induction ceremony, Folakemi dedicated the achievement to her parents, whom she described as her rocks and examples.
She expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices, prayers, emotional support, and sleepless nights they endured throughout her years in medical school.
She stated that their unwavering support played a major role in helping her achieve the milestone.
Folakemi emotionally thanked them for constantly worrying, praying, and standing by her through the difficult journey, adding that she hopes to always make them proud and remain a blessing to them.
Now officially a medical doctor, Folakemi looks forward to achieving even greater things in medicine, content creation, and beyond.
