A young man named Demilade Fashipe has achieved remarkable success after earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Binghamton University in the United States.
Now, he has achieved another major milestone after gaining admission into a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program without first completing the conventional master’s degree pathway.
His journey reflects excellence, consistency, resilience, and dedication to education.
Demilade's Story and How He Did It
Demilade began his higher academic journey at Rockland Community College, where he studied Psychology and graduated with an associate degree in 2024 as an honors student.
Reflecting on his journey at Rockland Community College, Demilade said the experience came with many challenges and uncertainties, but he remained focused on succeeding academically.
“My journey was one with many ups, downs and uncertainties, but I succeeded through the help of my wonderful, hardworking professors at Rockland Community College, my fellow students and most importantly, God,” he shared.
During his time at the college, Demilade consistently maintained academic excellence and made the Dean’s List in all four semesters he attended.

He was also selected into the RCC President’s Society, a networking and leadership program supported by the school’s foundation.
In addition, he was inducted into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges awarded to students with outstanding academic performance.
After completing his associate degree, Demilade transferred to Binghamton University, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
In 2026, he graduated with honors. Sharing his achievement on Linkedin, Demilade announced his acceptance into the university’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy program.
“I would like to announce my acceptance into the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OT) program at Binghamton University,” he shared.
According to Demilade, the admission fulfilled a goal he had worked toward for years after completing observation hours at a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center as part of his preparation for occupational therapy school.
Reflecting on his academic journey, he expressed gratitude for the sacrifices and effort that led to the achievement.
“After reflecting on the past four years, I am grateful for all the late nights, early mornings, and countless study sessions with my friends and colleagues,” he said.
During these four years, Demilade found a career path that he decided to pursue. He stated that he made meaningful connections with distinguished professors and fellow students while completing his program at one of the top universities in the United States.
Demilade also thanked God, his professors, family, and friends for supporting him throughout his educational journey.
As he prepares to begin his doctoral studies, he expressed hope and determination to successfully complete the rigorous program in the coming years.
“As I embark on another rigorous academic journey in doctoral school, I hope to share my successful completion of the program on this same platform in the next three years, so help me God,” he stated.
