A brilliant Nigerian man named Ettu Malik, has achieved exceptional academic success after earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria.
His achievement is even more inspiring because his journey of excellence began long before university.
Ettu's Story and How He Did It
Before gaining admission into medical school, Ettu had already distinguished himself academically. In the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), he scored 8 As and 1 B
He also recorded an outstanding 347 out of 400 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME/JAMB). With those impressive results, he secured admission to study Medicine at Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2019.
Ettu spent eight years pursuing his dream of becoming a doctor, navigating the rigorous demands of medical training with determination and consistency.
At the end of the journey, he graduated with 7 distinctions in the following courses Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Internal Medicine

Which means he earned distinctions in 7 out of 10 major medical courses.
According to Ettu, his result is the best academic performance recorded among all 32 graduating sets of medical doctors since the establishment of the Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences, the medical college of Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Sharing his success on X, Ettu reflected on his journey so far. “8 years ago, I began this journey to become a doctor, after 8As and 1B in my WASSCE and a score of 347 in my UTME. The journey is finally over… It was one hell of a ride,” he said.
