A brilliant African scholar, Benjamin Fenny, has achieved outstanding academic success by graduating as the overall best student from the Accra College of Medicine in Ghana.
His remarkable journey includes earning a full scholarship to study medicine and excelling throughout his seven years of rigorous training.
Benjamin first gained national attention in 2018 when he won the Ghana National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) competition. This achievement earned him the prestigious NSMQ Accra College of Medicine Scholarship, which supports exceptional students in pursuing medical education.

Building on this foundation, Benjamin maintained his stellar performance and graduated top of his class, receiving a first-class degree and a total of eight awards for his exceptional accomplishments.
The awards include the Accra Medical Centre’s Prize for the Overall Best Male Student, Ken and Angela Ofori-Atta Foundation’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Psychiatry, and Professor George Dugbartey’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Pharmacology.
He also won the Hawkrad Group’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Anaesthesia, Yeboah Hospital’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Community Health, and Teddy Konu’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Medicine.
The Medifem Multi-Specialist Hospital & Fertility Centre’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Women’s Health and MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited’s Prize for the Overall Best Student in Hematology.
Benjamin’s journey is a testament to hard work, determination, and the impact of opportunities like the NSMQ scholarship.
In a similar story, a young Nigerian man named Akinseinde Oluwasetemipe achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, earning a Second Class Upper Honors through the prestigious KPMG Scholarship Program.
