A 30-year-old African-American lady named Kristine Smalls from Camden, New Jersey, has earned her PhD in Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Raised by a single mother alongside her sibling, Kristine always dreamed of becoming a doctor. Her mother, Kendra Busbee, expressed immense pride in her daughter’s achievement, recalling that Kristine had set this goal from a young age.
To celebrate her success, Kendra rented a digital billboard to publicly honor her daughter’s incredible accomplishment,
“I am the proudest mom knowing that I have the most awesome daughter. I can’t even explain the feeling that I have right now. She has done everything that a mother could wish their child could do. I wish nothing but the best for her,” she said.

Kristine, who never missed a day of school from kindergarten through 12th grade, was surprised by the tribute. Her mother surprised her by inviting her to what she thought was a small outdoor gathering in a parking lot.
Upon arrival, Kristine was met with a giant billboard displaying her photo and accomplishments.
Kendra explained that beyond celebrating her daughter, she also wanted the billboard to serve as an inspiration for others who might see it and also these who come from their city.
“We once heard that nothing good comes out of the city of Camden, and we just wanted to let them know this is something good that comes out of the city of Camden,” Kendra said.
”The kids there don’t really know what’s outside of Camden. Seeing somebody on a billboard becoming a doctor, it is possible,” Kristine added. Kristine said her goal in life is to come back to her hometown, Camden to give back to the society
