A young and brilliant Nigerian Lady, Temitope Olatimehin has bagged a unique recognition by the United States Government for the outstanding performance of her business.
Temitope who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, South-West, Nigeria narrated that she had been offered admission to start her Master’s Degree in the United States 8 years ago, but had to reject the offer to focus on her business.
Her decision to reject the US university admission led to many backlashes from her friends and colleagues as they thought of her as being crazy to have decided to hang on to her newly established business instead of enrolling in the US university.
“To be honest, I had my fears too and I felt all the overwhelming feeling of fear, uncertainty and doubt but I faced them anyway. I left everything to face a business I had no prior experience nor expertise. Probably the biggest risk of my entire life yet. I was totally driven and passionate to win against all odds,” she said on Linkedin.
Temitope who fought on with her business in Nigeria however announced that in 2022, she received an award in the United States and has been offered admission to the Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, United States after 8 years.
“Well, 8 years after, I am glad to be selected for the prestigious because my business , same business I started afraid and uncertain has brought me the recognition of the US government,” she narrated.
Celebrating her achievement, she narrated that she is now in the United States as a scholar mainly because of the business she started 8 years ago when she rejected the intiatia US university admission offer.
