Young African Lady wins UK Commonwealth scholarship, bags Masters degree from University of Cambridge

A young African lady named Chidinma Akaniro who won a full scholarship from Commonwealth has bagged a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge.

Chidinma Akaniro is a Nigerian- born who moved to the United Kingdom to further her studies. She earned her bachelor of science degree in Microbiology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and bagged a Master of Science degree in Environment Management from the same university.

Chidinma also holds a master of business administration from the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University in Nigeria. She won the Common Wealth in partnership with Cambridge Trust scholarship to study masters at the University of Cambridge.

Now she has added another master’s degree to her portfolio, she bagged a Master of Philosophy in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge. Chidinma described the achievement as one filled with beautiful memories and rewarding.

”Thank you Cambridge for the beautiful memories. I have officially been conferred the Master of Philosophy in Public Policy, University of Cambridge on this beautiful day in July 2023,” she wrote on Twitter.

She further expressed her gratitude to the Commonwealth group for the full scholarship she earned from them. ”I am so thankful to have received a full scholarship from the Cambridge Trust and Commonwealth, which made this journey possible,” she said.

Chidinma also thanked her husband for being supportive and for believing in her goals.  ”I am thankful to have a supportive partner, who had faith in me and my dreams and made this journey with me. Thank you Chidozie Nnewuihe, MBA for taking over the lion’s share of child care and family responsibilities in the last one year, to allow me focus on school,” she added.
