Young Lady beats 40 competitors to win £20000 full scholarship, set to bag masters degree at UK university

A brilliant young lady named Sashauna Perkins has outshined 40 competitors to win a full scholarship worth 20000 pounds to study for her master’s degree at Swansea University in the United Kingdom.

Perkins, from St. Andrews Jamaica, was awarded the full scholarship by Swansea University to study for a Master of Business Administration. She was the winner of the 20000 scholarship out of over 40 other competitors according to the university’s website.

The scholarship for the Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) was introduced to reward an individual who showed the biggest potential in becoming a progressive and innovative, future leader.

The university said while all the applicants were exceptional, Perkins stood out with her unique and creative application which clearly outlined how she would use her degree to benefit the community in which she grew up.

“I am so proud to have received the full scholarship to study the MBA at Swansea University. The University stood out to me as an institution dedicated to developing sustainable and people-centric leaders; there was a clear focus on the human value of a business, as well as its shareholder value,” she said.

Perkins worked in Digicel Group’s international business department, managing messaging and adapting it for the digital world. She played a key role in promoting digital transformation for long-term business success.

”I hope to expand on this after my studies and intend to join senior management immediately after graduation, where I will contribute to industry reform and experience further growth,” she said.


The director of Swansea University’s MBA program, Paul Davies said that Perkins has shown great promise as a business leader and has already demonstrated her drive and passion for sustainable, business success.

“I am positive that Sashauna will put her new knowledge and skills to good use when she achieves her qualification and I look forward to hearing about her successes in the future,” she said.

Perkins said she hopes to become a chief executive officer in the communications sector adding that she is certain the master’s degree will support her in reaching her goals.
