A young lady named Oyindamola Abdulfatai has finally been called to the bar as a first-class Lawyer after studying for 9 years straight instead of 6.
Oyindamola obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria with a second-class upper grade before she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where she was called to bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
She graduated from the Nigerian Law School with a first-class grade. Oyindamola celebrated her achievement on LinkedIn, stating that her call to the bar signifies the fulfillment of her childhood dream.
”On 7th March 2024, a dream I’ve had since I was a kid became a reality as I got called to the largest bar in Africa! I further took it up a notch by graduating top 5% in a class of 5300 with first class honors,” she said.

Considering her background and the academic journey, Oyindamola said her accomplishment is a huge achievement.
She said when she graduated from the University of Ibadan with a strong second-class upper grade despite the series of extra-curricular activities and amidst several challenges, she knew she was up for more achievement.
Oyindamola stated that she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School with a determination to finish with the best results. She said initially, she was haunted by the different stories of what could go wrong at the Nigerian Law School, but she was ready to face them.
She said her journey at the Nigerian Law School was the most difficult she has ever embarked on. Oyindamola said Law School tested her in ways she never thought possible.
However, the journey instilled in her the most remarkable qualities and it showed her that if she dared to dream, with hardwork, perseverance, discipline, and with God, she could achieve anything.
Oyindamola expressed her gratitude to God for helping her achieve success she wrote on a piece of paper and knelt at the church altar. She also thanked her family and friends who helped her on the academic journey.
She said she is also commending herself for her hardwork, discipline, and for not giving up on herself. Oyindamola said the achievement will mark the beginning of amazing things to come and she is looking forward to exploring excellent opportunities in the legal profession.
