A determined young lady named Ibeyinwa Grace Oluchukwu has achieved remarkable academic success, rising above self-doubt and negative beliefs to earn a first-class bachelor’s degree in Fisheries from the University of Lagos.

Grace's Story and How She Did It
Grace’s journey began after secondary school, at a time when her confidence was at its lowest.
Her O’Level results, which were mostly C grades, made her question her intelligence. She began to believe she was not as smart as she once thought, and that mindset followed her into her early academic journey.
Determined to still pursue higher education, she enrolled in the JUPEB program as an alternative pathway into the university.
Although she successfully completed the program, her results were once again average, and she did not gain admission into her desired course. Instead, she was placed in a less competitive and often overlooked field—Fisheries.

For many, that might have been another reason to give up. But for Grace, it became a turning point.
Upon gaining admission into the University of Lagos, she made a personal commitment to herself, to never settle for mediocrity again. She set a clear academic goal, no more C grades, only A’s and B’s.
From that moment, her approach to learning changed. She became intentional with her studies, disciplined with her time, and focused on improving daily. Slowly but steadily, her results began to reflect her new mindset.
Semester after semester, she maintained strong grades, proving to herself that her earlier doubts were not a true reflection of her ability.
By the end of her academic journey, Grace had completely rewritten her story. She graduated with a first-class degree in Fisheries and emerged as the second-best graduating student in her department.
Her achievement that highlights not just intelligence, but growth, resilience, and academic mastery.
