Yasmine N François who used to work as a shopkeeper for her mom while growing narrated that she got inspired to embark on her exceptional journey while working for her mom as a shopkeeper.
Announcing her outstanding through her LinkedIn, she said her journey started in her mother’s shop. “It started here; in my mother’s little shop where I would shopkeep in her absence, using the time to do my homework, study, and complete projects. It was one of the places that I unconsciously became a dreamer; dreaming of a better future, which required that I prioritise my education,” she narrated.
She noted that although education might not be the main factor that moves people from poverty to wealth, she is however convinced that “education would be the key to opening some very important doors for me – which it has.”
Yasmine N François graduated with Distinction from the Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, the United Kingdom specializing in Business Management. 5 years after graduating from the university, she won the Chevening Scholarship Award to earn her Master’s degree.
Yasmine N François says she will be proceeding to the University of East Anglia, England to pursue a Master of Arts in International Social Development.

“I am thrilled and very grateful for this opportunity and anticipate the indelible impact it will have on my personal and professional development; being a key part of my process of becoming and helping me inspire others to become,” she wrote on LinkedIn.
She added that her success comes at a time when she is faced with challenges. “This achievement of being a Chevening Scholar comes on the heels of two of the most difficult hurdles that I have ever had to overcome; the deaths of my brother, Darrel Francois and cousin, Keran Francois and I said to God, “Father, I need this win,” she said.
She said God answered her prayers and that she does not want her faith to be tested by another disappointment. “So, whether you are going through a difficult time or not, be encouraged that God hears your prayers (whatever they may be) and trust that better days will come,” she added.
Yasmine N François thanked God for the favours and also thanked everyone who contributed to her journey thus far and hopes to continue making them proud!
