Young Lady wins full scholarship at Harvard and went on to earn bachelors degree with honors, here is how she did it

A brilliant young lady named Fransisca Lamini, has achieved remarkable academic success after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with Summa Cum Laude (Highest Honors) from Harvard University, United States.

Her achievement is especially inspiring because her journey to one of the world’s most prestigious universities began with academic excellence and determination in Ghana, eventually earning her a fully funded scholarship to study in the United States.

Fransisca's Story and How She Did It

Fransisca first gained national attention in 2021 during the popular National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) competition in Ghana.

Representing Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO), she became widely celebrated for her exceptional intelligence, confidence, and performance on the quiz stage even though she did not emerge overall winner.

During the competition, Fransisca made history as the first female contestant in eight years to lead her school to the grand finale of the highly competitive national contest.

Her performance inspired many young girls across Ghana and beyond, especially in science and mathematics, fields where female representation is often limited.

Following her impressive NSMQ performance, Fransisca continued her academic excellence by earning straight A’s in all eight subjects in her WASSCE examinations.

Fransisca’s outstanding academic results earned her international opportunities and eventually paved the way for her admission into Harvard University on a fully funded scholarship.

In 2022, she began her undergraduate studies at Harvard, enrolling in the Molecular and Cellular Biology program as a pre-medical student.

Moving from Ghana to one of the most academically demanding universities in the world came with new challenges and expectations, but Fransisca remained focused and determined.

From her first year at Harvard, reports of her excellent academic performance began attracting praise both within Ghana and internationally.

She consistently maintained high academic standards throughout her undergraduate journey, demonstrating the same discipline and excellence that first made her popular during the NSMQ competition.

After years of dedication, hard work, and consistency, Fransisca graduated in 2025 with Summa Cum Laude, the university’s highest academic honors awarded to exceptional graduating students.

Fransisca graduation marked another major milestone in a journey already defined by academic brilliance and perseverance.

Now, after successfully earning her pre-med degree, Fransisca will be proceeding to medical school, which forms part of her scholarship and long-term academic pathway.

Celebrating her achievement, she shared took to Instagram, giving credit to God for the success she achieved. “God Did,” she wrote.
