A brilliant Nigerian man named Boluwatife Anjola has achieved remarkable success in the legal profession, becoming qualified to practise law in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom within a space of five years.
His journey reflects excellence, determination, and consistency, moving from qualification in Nigeria, home to the largest bar in Africa, to earning admission as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and securing a role at top international law firm Linklaters.
Boluwatife's Story and How She Did It
Boluwatife began his academic journey at University of Ibadan in 2015, where he enrolled for a bachelor’s degree in Law. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he maintained academic excellence and in 2019, he graduated with first-class honors.
Following his university education, he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School for the mandatory professional training required for law graduates in Nigeria.
After successfully completing his legal training and qualifying to practise in Nigeria, Boluwatife began building his professional career, working across legal practice while preparing himself for international opportunities.
His growing expertise and outstanding performance in corporate and financial law later earned him recognition by IFLR1000, an international guide that ranks some of the world’s leading financial and corporate lawyers.

Speaking about the recognition, he described being named a “Rising Star” as a major milestone in his career.
“The Rising Star ranking is accorded to outstanding lawyers advising on the most complex and innovative transactions in their market, while receiving excellent client and peer feedback for their work,” he stated.
Boluwatife later expanded his legal career internationally and qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales. He also joined the Global Energy and Infrastructure team at Linklaters as an associate.
Reflecting on his journey in a LinkedIn post, he shared how a conference he organized years earlier with friends helped shape his vision of becoming a global lawyer.
“A few years ago, my friends and I organised an international legal practice conference. The goal — to better understand, and help peers understand what it means to be a global lawyer and how to become one,” he wrote.
He added that after gaining experience across three continents, he celebrated both his UK qualification and his return to the Linklaters Global Energy & Infrastructure team.
“Been truly great to be back and have more opportunities to support our clients — who continue to develop impactful projects and originate market-defining deals!” he said.
Boluwatife also expressed gratitude to his mentors, teachers, friends, colleagues, and family members who supported him throughout the journey.
Looking ahead, he is excited about the future and committed to making meaningful impact through the legal profession.
