A brilliant young man named Michael Mensah-Mamfo has achieved remarkable success after receiving admission offers from 14 medical schools across the United States, alongside multiple scholarship awards.
His journey reflects excellence, resilience, and a clear vision to become a medical doctor
Micheal's Story and How She Did It
Michael began his academic journey at Florida A&M University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Pre-Medical Studies) in 2021. Reflecting on his time at the university, he shared that his experience shaped him both academically and personally.
“The amount of growth I experienced over my four years was immeasurable. I came in as an insecure high schooler, but I left as a leader and advocate. FAMU taught me the importance of community,” he said.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Michael set his sights on medical school. What followed was a rigorous and highly competitive application process.
Despite the challenges, his hard work paid off. He received 19 interview invitations and secured admission offers from 14 medical schools, an extraordinary achievement in the highly competitive field of medicine.

Grateful for the milestone, he said: “I am incredibly thankful to God and to the amazing people who supported me throughout this journey. Their guidance and encouragement opened doors I never imagined.”
Michael credited his success to the strong support system around him, including mentors, professors, advisors, and family members who guided him at different stages of his journey.
Among the offers he received, he chose to attend Duke University, one of the top medical schools in the United States, where he began his Doctor of Medicine (MD) program in 2022.
Now, he is on track to complete his medical degree in 2026 and has already matched into a General Surgery residency program—marking another major milestone in his career.
