Young Man sets record as Texas Law School’s first black valedictorian, becomes the first lawyer in his family

A brilliant young man named Eric B. Williams II has set a record as the first black valedictorian of South Texas Law School, United States, and also as the first Lawyer in his family.

Eric made history as the first-ever black student to earn the valedictorian title at South Texas Law School, Houston in the United States. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing/ International Business at the University of Houston, United States.

He proceeded to South Texas Law School for a Doctor of Jurisprudence, in Law. While at the college, he broke many records, served in different categories, and received notable awards.

Eric was the first Black male to serve as editor-in-chief of the South Texas Law Review, the only honoree from a Texas law school named a 2022 National Jurist Law Student of the Year.

He was also a Presidential Fellow, a Langdell Scholar, and South Texas Law School’s 2021-22 Outstanding Male Student. Eric was also the National Jurist Magazine Law Student of the Year and completed multiple judicial internships while in school.

Eric will begin as an associate with Foley & Lardner where he will serve as a clerk for Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit according to Forward Times.


In another story, a 24-year-old African American man named Derrick Parker jr has graduated from Harvard Law School. He also made history as the first lawyer in his family.
