A young Nigerian man named Seun Adeboyekun has earned the prestigious Erasmus scholarship to pursue his master’s studies in Spain, a milestone that marks his inspiring academic journey from Ondo State, Nigeria, to Europe.
He will be studying at the University of Jaén under the Erasmus KA171 Student Mobility Programme, a fully funded program that will cover his tuition, living stipends, accommodation, andeven travel Costs.
From Ondo State, Nigeria, to Spain, Seun Adeboyekun’s story is one of academic excellence, strategic preparation, and unwavering determination.
Seun's Story and How She Did It
Seun began his academic journey at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with Second Class Upper Honors in 2023.
During his undergraduate studies, he conducted impactful research titled: “The Prevalence of Malaria and Hepatitis B and Their Co-Infections in Patients Visiting Basic Health Centers in Akure, Ondo State.”
This research deepened his understanding of the intersection between biology and public health, strengthening his analytical and research skills while reinforcing his commitment to reducing health disparities.
His findings contributed meaningful insights to discussions around malaria control and prevention in local communities.
After graduation, Seun continued building his academic and professional profile by working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant, expanding his research portfolio while also actively applying for international study opportunities.
His persistence paid off. In November 2025, Seun won the Erasmus KA171 Student Mobility Programme as a registered postgraduate student in Environmental Biology and Public Health at FUTA.
He was successfully awarded the scholarship to further his studies in Biological Sciences at the University of Jaén, Spain.
The Erasmus programme offers international academic exposure, research collaboration opportunities, and cross-cultural exchange, all of which align with Seun’s long-term goal of becoming a globally impactful researcher.
According to Seun, the scholarship represents a major step toward achieving his research ambitions, an opportunity to strengthen his academic competence, a platform to develop cross-cultural and global perspectives, and personal growth in confidence and professional excellence.
