A young Nigerian boy named Lasisi Ibrahim has won 200,00 naira and a scholarship to any university of his choice after beating his fellow contestants to emerge the winner of a mathematics competition in Ogun state, Nigeria.
Lasisi Ibrahim is a student of Olive Crescent Scholars in Ogun State. He emerged as the winner of the SMATHS-Kids Interschool Math and Science Competition.
The SMATHS-Kids Interschool Mathematics competition is a competition organized by Apt Scholars Universal College in Otta, Ogun State. The organization mentioned that the goal of the competition is to recognize and celebrate the academic excellence of young students in mathematics and science.
The Apt Scholar said they provide a platform for talented students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, fostering healthy competition among high schools in the state.
Lasisi won the competition and was awarded the grand prize of 200,000 naira, while his teacher, Mr. Abdullahi Kabir Oza-Ovehe also received a total prize of 100,000 naira in the teacher’s category.
In addition, Lasisi was also awarded a scholarship that covers half of his tuition fees for the next six years, along with a prestigious plaque as a symbol of his outstanding achievement.
The Head of Olive Crescent Scholars School, Mrs. Aminu-Ibraheem Mariam O, expressed her joy and pride in Lasisi accomplishments describing it as an outstanding feat for the school at large.
