Young Nigerian Lady bags bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with first-class, wins award at US company

A Young Nigerian female civil engineer has emerged as the first-ever best female graduating student of the University of Lagos’s (UNILAG) Faculty of Engineering after bagging a Cumulative Grade Point of 4.84 out of a possible 5.

The young lady known as Oluwaseyi Adewumi enrolled for her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2015 and worked hard throughout the five years of her academic journey to emerge the best student in her faculty.

Celebrating her feat on Linkedin, Oluwaseyi revealed that her being the best graduating as the best student in her faculty means she has successfully broken a 59-year-old record of the institution which has always presented male graduating students.

“Breaking a 59-year record as I emerged as the First Female to graduate as BOTH the Best Graduating Student in Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Overall Best Female in the entire Faculty of Engineering from my department at the University of Lagos remains the humbling moment of my convocation from the University of Lagos,” she wrote on Linkedin.
