Young Nigerian Lady bags masters degree in Law from UK university, graduates with distinction

A brilliant Nigerian lady named Rahmah Oladejo has bagged a master’s degree in law with distinctions at the University of Essex, England in the United Kingdom.

Rahmah obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria with a 4.41 grade point before she proceeded to Nigerian Law School where she was called to bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

She went on to earn her master’s degree in Law (LL.M) at the University of Essex, England. Rahmah took to Linkedin to share her achievement of graduating with a distinction master’s in the United Kingdom.

Rahmah bagged her LL.M. in International Commercial and Business Law with outstanding distinction. She stated that she is excited to have received not only one but two awards which she classified as a recognition of her efforts. I

She won the award for the best performance in Commercial Law Postgraduate Dissertation and the best performance in Individual Commercial Law. Rahmah said the award came as a surprise to her as she was not aware that postgraduate degrees came with awards for exceptional performances.

Rahmah said her academic journey was transformative, filled with challenges, growth, and invaluable experiences. She stated that she is not only getting grades and awards but also gaining knowledge, skills, and perspectives that will shape her professional journey.

She said graduating with a distinction is proof of the incredible support she received from her lecturers, classmates, and mentors who were instrumental in her academic success. She said she is thankful for the opportunities to engage with diverse legal concepts, analyze real-world scenarios, and contribute to meaningful discussions.



Rahmah mentioned that the program equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the global commercial-legal landscape adding that she was equipped with an understanding of corporate governance structures for companies to navigate international trade and financial regulations.

She thanked her dissertation supervisor whose guidance and immense wealth of experience allowed her to put together a well-researched topic that is so close to her heart and which allowed her to flourish excellently.

Rahmah mentioned that as she embarks on the next chapter of my career, she is excited to apply her knowledge to address complex legal challenges and contribute meaningfully to the landscape of Law.
