A young Nigerian lady named Mary Joboson has won the Mastercard Foundation scholarship to study for her master’s at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in the United Kingdom.
Mary was awarded the prestigious fully-funded Mastercard Foundation Scholarship to further her postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria with first-class honors.
After she graduated from the university, Mary proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where she passed and was sworn in as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
She took to Linkedin to celebrate her achievement stating that she is excited to have won the prestigious fully funded Mastercard Foundation scholarship to study in the United Kingdom.
Mary shared that she will be studying for her master’s in Data, Inequality, and Society at the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She said the achievement marks a significant milestone in her academic and professional journey.
She added that the achievement is also a testament to the power of hard work, perseverance, and divine favor. She expressed her gratitude to the Mastercard Foundation for giving her the opportunity.
She also thanked her family, mentors, and friends who encouraged her constantly stating their support and contribution towards her success is valuable.
Mary mentioned that she has found it rewarding to deeply explore the complexities of inequality and to engage herself in the world of data. She added that she is excited about the opportunity to contribute to societal progress through the academic journey.
