A young Nigerian man named Samuel Ogunsola who bagged a master’s degree at the University of Manitoba with a 94% grade has been awarded a $150,000 worth of scholarship to study her PhD at the same university.
Samuel Ogunsola was awarded the prestigious Vanier Scholarship worth of $150,000 to study for his doctorate degree in Generic Research at the University of Manitoba, Canada.
Samuel bagged his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a first-class honors of 4.73 over a possible 5.00 cumulative grade point at the Federal University of Technology, Akure NigeriaÂ
He was the best-graduating student in the 2017/2018 Biochemistry class. After his bachelor’s degree, Samuel relocated to Canada to pursue a master of science degree in Physiology and Pathophysiology with a 4.25/ 4.50 grade point.

Samuel shared his achievement of winning the Vanier Scholarship on his LinkedIn describing it as a dream come true for him. He was awarded a scholarship for his genetic research in Physiology and Pathophysiology at the University of Manitoba.
He said receiving the Vanier scholarship has put in him a sense of responsibility to continue to give back to his community and to trust in his own abilities emphasizing that it served as a reminder that he can achieve any goal so far he put his heart to it.
“Receiving the prestigious scholarship has ignited in me a sense of responsibility to continue to give back to my community and to trust in my own abilities to accomplish remarkable feats. It serves as a reminder that with dedication and determination, any goal I set my heart on can be achieved,” he said.
