Young Nigerian man finally bags Electrical Engineering degree after studying for 13 years, graduates with 4.53 first-class

A young Nigerian man named Afeez Lawal has bagged an Electrical Engineering degree with a 4.53 over 5.00 first-class grade at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Nigeria after studying for 13 years straight.

Afeez obtained her bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a 4.53 over a possible 5.00 cumulative grade point average first-class grade at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Nigeria.

Celebrating his achievement on Twitter, Afeez stated that it took him 13 years to earn the degree after he graduated from High School. He initially earned a National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Federal Polytechnic Ede, Nigeria.

”It took me 13 years from leaving secondary school to get to this point and I did in style,” he said. Afeez graduated from the Federal Polytechnic with a distinction grade of 3.73 over a 4.00 cumulative grade point average.

Afeez proceeded to earn a bachelors degree in the same course at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. While at the university, he was a Software Developer at the same time a student.

He was an Embedded and IoT systems engineer, the Ex-President of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students Association FUNAAB, the
Team Lead, Before and Beyond ’20 initiative.

Afeez not only graduated as an Engineer but was also inducted as a Graduate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (GMNSE).
