A brilliant lady named Sydney Dupree has emerged as the best graduating student of Spelman College, United States after scoring an outstanding 4.00 cumulative grade point.

Sydney Dupree bagged her bachelor of arts degree in Theatre Arts with a 4.00-grade point (Summa Cum Laude) at Spelman College, the prestigious all-women Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)in Atlanta, Georgia.

Sydney was awarded one of the four best-graduating students of the university’s 2023 graduating class. She was an active student during her time at Spelman College.

Sydney also presented, “DADDY: A Live Walk-Thru Drama About Human Trafficking” at Spelman earlier this semester, a theatrical production that began in the Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby, Ed.D., Academic Center lobby and then transitioned to different spaces as audience members walked together from scene to scene.

“This performance is special to me because human trafficking is not a subject that is commonly talked about enough. It also disproportionately affects Black women and is largely underreported,” Sydney said.

”It’s important to me that I present this work to my Spelman family because I want them to understand the tactics predators use to coerce young black women so that we can be aware and protect ourselves,” she added.

Sydney said she enjoys acting, drawing, painting, and writing. She is currently signed with Atlanta’s Forward Agency as a television/film actress and aspires to use her acting experience to pursue a career as a casting director.
