Meet Ifeoma White-Thorpe, the 17-year-old girl who gained admission into all 8 Ivy-League universties at the same time

AMERICA | A brilliant young woman named Ifeoma White-Thorpe, has achieved another major academic milestone, earning her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Harvard Law School, years after making history by gaining admission into all eight Ivy League universities in the United States.

Her journey stands as a powerful example of consistent excellence, leadership, and academic achievement from teenage years into professional success.

Ifeoma's Story and How She Did It

In 2017, at only 17 years old, Ifeoma accomplished what very few students worldwide have achieved, she was accepted into every Ivy League university in the United States.

The Ivy League comprises eight prestigious private universities in the Northeastern United States, including Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, Columbia University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to these offers, she also secured admission into Stanford University, another top-ranked institution, further proving her academic brilliance.

At the time, she was a standout student at Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, where she was known as both a high achiever and student leader.

After weighing her options, Ifeoma chose Harvard University, where she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Chemistry, graduating in 2021. While at Harvard, she did not limit herself to academics.

Ifeoma served as Vice President of the Undergraduate Council, representing students and playing leadership roles on campus. She also gained national attention after appearing in a viral campaign rap video, showcasing her confidence and creativity beyond the classroom.

Her undergraduate years reflected a balance of scholarship, leadership, and public engagement. Following her graduation, Ifeoma continued her journey at Harvard Law School, enrolling in the prestigious Juris Doctor program.

In 2024, she completed the program successfully, celebrating the milestone with the phrase: “Veni, Vidi, Vici” — I came, I saw, I conquered.

But her achievements did not stop there. After earning her law degree, Ifeoma proceeded to take the New York Bar Examination, one of the most challenging professional licensing exams for lawyers in the United States.

She passed and became officially certified to practice law. “Onwards and upwards, I passed the New York bar exam! As always, all glory be to God. Ifeoma E. White-Thorpe, Esq,” she proudly shared on Instagram.

Ifeoma’s excellence has consistently attracted recognition. She was named a 2017 Coca-Cola Scholar, an honor awarded to exceptional students across the United States.

In 2018, she was also recognized by BET as one of the “Great 28” Future Force African Americans, celebrating young leaders making a significant impact. Currently, Ifeoma is is currently an Associate in the Intellectual Property practice at a law firm in New York.
