AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian man named Fawaz Kazeem has emerged as the best graduating student from the Department of Economics at Lagos State University (LASU), earning a first-class degree with a remarkable cumulative grade point average of 4.82 out of 5.00.
Celebrating the achievement on LinkedIn, Fawaz shared that receiving his degree came with a deep sense of pride and accomplishment. Walking across the stage reminded him of the many moments of determination, resilience, and his commitment to excellence.
Although graduating with first-class honours was a significant milestone, Fawaz explained that what made the achievement even more meaningful was being recognized as the Best Graduating Student of his department, Class of 2024.

Aside from being recognised as the top student in his class, he won the ICAN Prize for emerging as the overall best student in Quantitative Analysis in Nigeria.
Fawaz also clinched the Academic Scholar Award during the 2020/2021 academic session, the Federal Government Scholarship Program , the WAPCO Livelihood Scholarship Program and the Lagos State Scholarship Program.
As he steps into a new phase of his journey, Fawaz expressed deep gratitude to the mentors, peers, and loved ones who believed in him and supported his growth.
