AFRICA | A brilliant Nigerian lady named Honour Dahunsi has once again proven her academic excellence by graduating from the Nigerian Law School with a first-class grade.
This achievement marks her second major academic feat after earning a 4.81 CGPA as the best graduating student from the Faculty of Law, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA) in 2024.
Honour's Story and How She Did It
Honour’s journey reflects an inspiring story of persistence, faith, and excellence. She first displayed her academic brilliance at AAUA, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), achieving a remarkable 4.81 out of 5.00 CGPA.
And she emerged as the best graduating student in her faculty and the second overall best student in the entire university. Determined to deepen her legal knowledge, she proceeded to the Nigerian Law School for her professional training.
Despite the demanding nature of the program, Honour once again distinguished herself, finishing with first-class honors and being called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Reflecting on her journey, Honour shared her heartfelt gratitude on LinkedIn, writing:
“This journey was filled with challenges — long hours of study, moments of doubt, and the constant need to keep believing in myself. But through it all, I finished strong through God, and I am grateful for everything this journey came with. Truly, it took a village to raise this latest lawyer,” she said.
Honour credited her success to God’s grace, her family’s unwavering support, and the strong community of friends and mentors who stood by her throughout her journey.
“I knew I could not have done it on my own but for His mercy. I return all glory to God for this crowning moment. To my family — thank you for the calls, the prayers, and the constant encouragement. Through the hardest nights and longest days, home was my safe place,” she said.
She also appreciated her peers and the Christian Law Students Fellowship of Nigeria (CLASFON) Executives, saying their shared strength and prayers made law school more bearable.
Throughout her studies, Honour anchored her faith in the Bible verse Zechariah 4:6 7, which she says kept her grounded during tough times:
“‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Honour Dahunsi, you shall become a plain!’”
