Popular American Singer, Usher Raymond IV popularly known as Usher has been awarded an Honourary Doctorate Degree in Music by Berklee College of Music, United States.
Usher Raymond IV is an American R&B singer-songwriter and recording artist who has been singing since the age of 12 in local singing competitions before catching the attention of a music A&R from LaFace Records that brought him to the limelight.
Usher was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree by the Berklee College of Music, Boston in the United States for his significant contributions to music as well as philanthropy. Upon receiving the honorary degree, he took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the prestigious university.
“Thank you @berkleecollege for honoring me and presenting me with a Doctor of Music degree, I’m so grateful for this opportunity to share a message with the next generation of artists, producers, vocalists, arrangers, dancers, and more,” he captioned his Instagram post.

He also shared some words of advice to the graduating class during the graduation ceremony encouraging them to keep pushing and be ready to embrace any mistake they made.
“Break the barriers, identify that spark in you that motivates you to keep going, and don’t expect everything to be perfect and run smoothly. Take what you’ve learned here at Berklee, go into the world, and make great things,” he said.
The Berkley College of Music management celebrated the singer on their Instagram, describing him as a Global megastar, eight-time Grammy Award winner, and Doctor of Music.
