Ebenezer's Story and How He Did It
Born into a modest home, his father worked as a laborer while his mother sold fish to support the family. Despite their financial struggles, they ensured Ebenezer attended a reputable school, sacrificing greatly to keep him in class.
At first, Ebenezer was not the most focused student. But as he grew older, he became determined to break the cycle of poverty that had limited his family for generations. His hard work soon paid off he rose to become one of the top 1% of students in his class.
His academic journey soon took a different course. During a summer program, Ebenezer discovered his passion for computer programming, which he worked towards. Together with his friend Japheth, he developed an educational app called Learning Hub to help students study more effectively.

The success of that project motivated them to co-found another tech solution — Exeatlog, a web-based application designed to digitize the school leave system.
Their innovations attracted attention at various technology competitions, earning recognition that boosted Ebenezer’s confidence and commitment to tech-driven education.
However, his journey was not without hardship. Ebenezer lost his father while still in high school, a painful experience that nearly affected his dreams. Yet, he stayed strong, channeling his grief into purpose.
He participated in the National Science and Mathematics Quiz, where his academic excellence was noticed, even though he did not make the final team.
Afterward, Ebenezer refocused on programming and decided to pursue his dream of studying abroad. Despite financial limitations, he registered for the SAT exams, studying late into the night.
His persistence paid off when he received multiple offers from world-class universities, including Harvard University, Yale University, California Institute of Technology, and Duke University, where he also received the prestigious Karsh International Scholarship.
Even though schools like MIT and Tufts University turned him down, Ebenezer never lost sight of his goal. His faith, family sacrifices, and mentorship through the Ckodon Foundation, led by Selorm, played a crucial role in his success.
Now, with Harvard as his next destination, Ebenezer is ready to use technology to create Afrocentric solutions that promote innovation across Africa.
Reflecting on his story, he said his greatest motivation came from his parents’ sacrifices and the belief that with perseverance, “no dream is too big for an African child.”
