Explainer: Universities in Canada That Do Not Require IELTS for 2022 Admissions

Several scholarships are available in Canada for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students who satisfy the requirements of their universities and courses of choice.

Of all the Canadian universities, 15 rank top on the scale of providing funds, scholarships, and grants to international students based on government allocation.

A major drawback of many international students has been the English proficiency. International students are usually required to obtain a certificate of proficiency by writing standard exams such as International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).

However, the following are exempted from the above requirement.

• Applicants who lived in a country where English is the acknowledged primary language for the most recent three years prior to beginning their university studies or
• Applicants who attended an education institution full-time where the medium of instruction is English for the most recent three or four years prior to beginning their university studies

Several countries such as the United kingdom, United States and Australia fall into these countries ad recently, Nigeria has been added to the list of many universities.
