AMERICA | Heaven Epps, the 18-year-old daughter of popular American rapper 2 Chainz, has gained admission into Howard University in the United States, continuing her family’s legacy of attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Born Tauheed Epps, 2 Chainz is an American rapper, songwriter, and actor. Beyond his profession, he is a family man who consistently advocates for quality education, which is no wonder his daughter is following his legacy
Heaven's Story and How She Did It
Heaven, the eldest child of 2 Chainz, graduated from Woodward Academy in Atlanta in 2025, where she maintained strong academic performance throughout high school.
Following her graduation, she secured admission into Howard University, one of the top HBCUs in the United States. Her admission marks the continuation of her family’s connection to Black higher education, as both her parents are HBCU alumni.
Her father, 2 Chainz, is familiar with the HBCU experience himself. He first attended Alabama State University on a Division I basketball scholarship from 1995 to 1997 before transferring to Virginia State University, where he eventually earned a degree in psychology
Heaven’s mother, Kesha Ward Epps, is also an HBCU graduate, having obtained a degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Alabama State University.
She is known as an educator, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who actively promotes academic empowerment and community development.
Proud of his daughter’s achievement, 2 Chainz shared the news of Heaven’s acceptance on Instagram, describing the moment as a “full circle” experience that reflects the family’s deep-rooted connection to HBCUs.
At Howard University, Heaven is set to begin her undergraduate studies and is expected to graduate with the Class of 2029, marking the start of her own academic journey and future legacy.
