How Bukola Oloyede graduated with double first-class in Law and won 3 scholarships to 3 universities abroad

“When I began in the 100 level, it felt unattainable because no one had ever recorded such excellence in my family, especially as a female. But by God’s endless grace, I made it this far. I’m deeply thankful to my parents and siblings for their unwavering support,” she wrote. 

Quoting Isaac Newton, she added, “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.”

Bukola credited her mentors and role models, including Dr. Reginald Aziza, whose story inspired her as an undergraduate.

Her outstanding record soon opened doors to the global stage. Bukola was awarded the Michael Taiwo Scholarship, which supports exceptional young Africans seeking graduate study abroad. But this was only the beginning of greater things to come.

Shortly after, she received admission offers from three of the world’s most prestigious law schools, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and New York University (NYU) School of Law—each accompanied by fully-funded scholarships.

She was awarded the Mastercard Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) Scholarship at Oxford, the Dean’s Scholarship at NYU, and the Wolfson College Scholarship for Women Entrepreneurs from Emerging Economies at Cambridge.

“I’m beyond thrilled to share that I’ve accepted the Mastercard AfOx fully-funded scholarship to pursue the world’s most esteemed law degree—the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL)—at the University of Oxford, the best university in the world,” she said.

Bukola expressed deep gratitude to her mentors. for their guidance, and acknowledged Dr. Michael Taiwo, whose encouragement to “become a global champion” continues to inspire her.

As she prepares to begin her studies at Oxford, Bukola remains passionate about empowering future scholars. “To anyone chasing their dreams, keep going. Your dreams are valid. With faith in God and persistence, the right doors will open,” she advised.
