UK| A 6-year-old genius boy named Jayce Joyce has achieved outstanding success in the United Kingdom.
He set a record as the youngest author to publish a book series at just four years old, and was recognised as one of the top 0.1% of the world’s smartest children by the British Mensa organisation.
British Mensa is the oldest high-IQ society in the world, founded in England in 1946. The organization accepts members from the top two percent of the population based on a supervised intelligence test.

Jayce's Story and How He Did It
A young genius from Birmingham, Jayce’s journey began when he was just three years old. His mum, Anim, recalls how he would write down detailed accounts of their family outings and insist on pinning them up around the house and in the neighborhood.
“Jayce started reading books and writing three-letter words when he was two. By the time he was three, he could write an entire script of what had happened that day,” she said.
Inspired by his passion, Anim sought advice from other parents of gifted children and was encouraged to publish his work. She published two of his books, titled “A Beach With No Sea” and “Jayce’s Sweet Tooth,” both released on World Book Day 2023.
Jayce’s brilliance also caught the attention of his teachers. On his first day at school, he surprised them by filling the playground with notes about his classmates and teachers.
Following an assessment, it was discovered that he had the reading age of a six-year-old and the writing age of a seven-year-old at the tender age of four.
In April 2024, Jayce was assessed by Lyn Kendall, British Mensa’s Gifted Child Consultant, where he achieved an IQ score of 150, placing him in the top 0.1% of children worldwide. This milestone earned him an official place in Mensa and solidified his standing as an exceptionally gifted child.
Jayce’s contribution to literacy has earned him multiple accolades. He received the British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA) at the House of Lords, allowing him to proudly use the post-nominal title “Jayce Joyce BCyA.”
He was also named Promising Laureate of the Year at a ceremony in the House of Commons and was honoured with The TruLittle Hero Awards 2024 in the Academic and Scribe categories.
In addition, Jayce was shortlisted among the top 10 candidates for the Benjamin Zephaniah Future Writers Competition 2024 for his poem My Mummy, which he started writing at just five years old.
Also, Jayce was recognised by the International Book of Records as “The World’s Youngest Author to Write and Publish Maximum Books of a Series Simultaneously.
Despite his remarkable achievements, Jayce remains grounded. “I love writing because writing is fun. I like people to read what I write and to use their imagination and write their own stories too,” she said.
Jayce hopes to use his platform to inspire other children to develop a love for reading and writing, making education more inclusive and accessible for kids everywhere.
