AMERICA | A brilliant Nigerian man named Jubelo Oyeniran has made history at Stevenson University, Maryland (USA), where he graduated with a First-Class Degree in Accounting, earning an exceptional 3.91 out of 4.00 GPA.
His remarkable academic journey and leadership excellence earned him the university’s Stevenson Pin Award, the highest honor given to any graduating student.
Jubelo's Story and How He Did It
Born and raised in Nigeria, Jubelo began his academic journey in the United States at NAF Career Academy, where he obtained his high school diploma in 2021.
With a remarkable academic performance, he secured a full Presidential Fellowship to pursue his undergraduate studies at Stevenson University.
Throughout his four-year academic pursuit, Jubelo stood out for his academic brilliance, integrity, and service to his university community. His excellent record earned him multiple honors, including the prestigious Stevenson Pin Award.
The SU Pin award is an all-encompassing recognition of merit that celebrates excellence in academics, independence of thought, reliability, respect for others, and significant involvement in university and community affairs.

He was also presented with the Orsia F. Young Leadership Award for the Brown School of Business and Leadership, recognizing his outstanding leadership impact on campus. This award is given to students who initiate positive change, motivate peers, and embody the true spirit of service.
Beyond academics, Jubelo was deeply involved in leadership and innovation. He served as Student Government President, led campus initiatives, and represented the university at several competitions and summits.
His commitment to learning and innovation earned him several external honors as a student, including recognition as a Wharton SUMMIT Scholar, Johns Hopkins Case Competition Champion, and Deloitte MADE Scholar.
During the 2025 commencement ceremony, Jubelo was selected as the Student Commencement Speaker, where he delivered a powerful speech inspired by his Yoruba heritage.
He opened with the proverb “Igi kan ò lè dá igbó ṣè,” which means “One tree does not make a forest.” He explained how this timeless wisdom from his hometown, Ijebu Ode, Nigeria, has shaped his worldview and guided his leadership journey.
“I wanted the speech to be more than words. It had to be real—rooted. Because legacy is not about standing alone. It is about what we build together,” Jubelo said.
Reflecting on his remarkable journey, Jubelo expressed deep gratitude in an Instagram post.“My life has been a living testament of my name. To God be the glory. This isn’t the end. It’s the launch. Purpose is calling, and I’m answerin,” he said.
