He earned the MBA through an international scholarship from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Upon receiving the scholarship, Duke recognized the challenge ahead but was determined to prove that hard work and focus could break barriers.
However, his academic journey was far from smooth. Just days after arriving in England, Duke faced the devastating loss of his elder brother, Chinonso, who had been ill before his departure.
Balancing profound grief with the demands of adjusting to a new academic and cultural environment tested his strength in unimaginable ways.
Despite these challenges, Duke persevered, drawing on his faith, family, friends, and the guidance of his lecturers. He expressed profound gratitude to his professors for their encouragement, which kept him motivated when he felt overwhelmed.
Out of ten modules and a dissertation, Duke earned top (A) grades in eight modules and his dissertation. His coursework on Innovation and Entrepreneurship was even selected as a model for future students.
Modules such as Business Models, Strategy and Decision Making, Organizational Behaviour, Risk Management, and Project Management became platforms where he applied his expertise in corporate governance.
Duke’s message to dreamers like himself is one of hope and determination:
“Circumstances do not define your destiny. Whether you’re switching careers, overcoming personal loss, or stepping into uncharted waters, with determination, discipline, and faith, you can achieve greatness.”
He also expressed deep gratitude to God, his family, mentors, and lecturers for their unwavering support. Duke now looks forward to breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of leaders.
He began his legal career at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Laws degree. He then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School to obtain his Barrister at Law certification.
Duke’s academic journey continued internationally, earning a degree in FinTech Law and Policy from Duke University School of Law and a degree in Medical Law from the University of Pennsylvania, both in the United States.
