AMERICA | An exceptional 8-year-old boy, Myles Dantzler from Detroit, has gained international attention after achieving an extraordinary score on an IQ test, placing him among the smartest children in the world.
Myles’ brilliance has been evident from a very young age. According to his parents, he began reading books far above his age level when he was just three years old, showcasing an early passion for learning.
Myles' Story and How He Did It
A third-grade student at Bates Academy in Detroit, Myles maintains an impressive 3.75 grade point average and is enrolled in his school’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, which supports students with exceptional academic abilities.
Despite being only in third grade, Myles reportedly reads at a seventh-grade level, an achievement that continues to amaze his teachers and family. Determined to test the extent of his intelligence, he later took a supervised IQ test.
The results were remarkable. Myles reportedly scored 152, placing him well within the range considered intellectually gifted and ranking him among the top performers globally for his age group
Following this achievement, he gained admission into Mensa, one of the world’s most prestigious high-IQ societies.
Mensa accepts individuals who score within the top 2% of the global population on recognized intelligence tests, making membership highly competitive and a rare accomplishment, especially for someone so young.
Mensa, the oldest and largest high-IQ society in the world, admits only individuals who score at or above the 98th percentile on approved intelligence tests.
Beyond academics, Myles already has big dreams for his future. He hopes to become a paleontologist, a scientist who studies ancient life forms, including dinosaurs, prehistoric plants, and early animal species.
As a child, he had quite an admirable interest in animals like dinosaurs, and early animal species studying books related to them.
